The Isle of Man Astronomical Society was formed with the following aims and objectives:


  • The promotion and encouragement of amateur astronomy.
  • The provision and encouragement of activities related to the control of light pollution.
  • The provision of mutual help amongst members with problems relating to astronomy.
  • The promotion and organisation of events for the interest and enjoyment of members.
  • The acquisition of land and the provision and maintenance of observatories and ancillary buildings for the use of members.
  • All or any additional activities as may be necessary in the opinion of the Committee for the attainment of all or any of the foregoing purposes.

These remain today, as back in 1989 when we were founded, our primary objectives.
