Comet
Chen Gao was small and faint as seen on the CCD. Guide8 has the
magnitude as +12.4 at a distance of 1.34 AU (200 461 000km / 124
561 000 miles) The comet will get a little brighter in April at
+11.7 , so isn't expected to be naked eye.
History: Discovered by Tao
Chen (Suzhou City, Jiangsu province, China) and Xing Gao (Urumqi,
Xinjiang province, China) at Xingming Observatory, Mt. Nanshan on
1st
February 2008. They
used a Canon 350D (Digital Rebel XT) DSLR with a 200mm f2.8 lens.
